Thank you for participating in Art Volume One & our content.
Art Volume I, is an online gallery of original thought & creativity.
Each Science Projects Volume, is intended to be a unique experience of the arts in Chicago & in our world.
Each Volume is up for a period of time & each Volume is an exhibition of the work presented.
How to operate your interactive hypermedia experience with ‘Snap’:
When you roll your mouse over hyperlinks do not click & wait for a small ‘Snap’ window to appear. If & when you see a ‘Snap’ window, a film, web page or image, etc, will appear within it.
You may play the films & view- the images, external sites or media, inside- the ‘Snap’ window as part- of the experience of the Volume.
The ‘Snap’ window may be moved- to any location on the page by putting your cursor on the top bar of the ‘Snap’ window. The ‘Snap’ window may also be kept open in the blank sidebars of the page, while one views or reads the content of each Volume.
Clicking on the magnifying glass on the upper right corner, makes the ‘Snap’ box a little larger. One may also open & visit the sources by clicking on the media inside of ‘Snap’. Several ‘Snap’ windows may be kept open at the same time.
Hyperlinks to roll your mouse over are in underlined blue or black. Also, placing your cursor over some of the images opens a snap window for viewing. Snap is new- so sometimes it is down, but it will work again, so if you notice it’s not coming up, it will eventually, one can still click on the links & visit the media intended for each Volume.
“I don’t listen to what art critics say. I don’t know anybody who needs a critic to find out what art is.”-Basquiat.
“Making itself intelligible is suicide for philosophy” Martin Heiddeger.
We are also a file:
All varieties of artwork & media are welcome; video, installation, graffiti, sculpture, ‘outsider’ art, performance, painters, filmmakers, photographers, etc.
We also ask that visual/installation/performance/etc- artists, include a personal artistic statement, no longer than one page, for consideration in a Volume.
If we can upload it, it’s work open to consideration.
Writers, poets interested in writing articles or sharing your short stories or poetry: Please send a sample of your work.
If you would like to curate a Volume & organize & gather artists together, let us know about your concept.
If you would like to have a conversation with an artist or artists, presenting their work here for an installment in a Volume, tell us about it.

“There is a freedom posited by the statement “art lets truth originate.” It is a freedom to become something, the free becoming of truth. Art allows the truth to happen; it does not pre-determine it or expect it to conform to an external standard. Art permits the truth to arise in the creation of the artwork and art work itself. Yet the truth that happens also involves the audience’s response and interpretation.”

All authors hold their respective copyrights on all submitted articles, writing, poetry, images, photographs, artworks, music & video, etc.
A note about commenting: All comments are moderated, mostly- to prevent some rather unsavory spam.
Yet, as we all know there are problems with web bullies on the net. Here at ART VOLUME I, we don’t tolerate web bullying. We handle moderation in precisely the same way as New York Magazine.
So, any comments that are blatantly- false statements, abusive, &/or threatening to others, or comments which excessively- infringe on another person’s privacy- or reputation-, will not be published.
We do NOT believe in censorship & we do, absolutely, support all views, opinions, facts & debates very- liberally, but we also know that such liberty- is not possible with immature web bullying. So take note.
Please do- be creatively witty or satirical, emotional- but with tact. We like integrity here.
& using first names or an alias is just fine with us, we know that for many reasons- ( timidity, personal preference, work, etc ) that many people need to feel comfortable enough to share their thoughts.
“Manners are more important than laws and upon them, to a great deal, the law depends….” George Bernard Shaw.
